Akiba Yavneh Academy is a vibrant co-educational college preparatory Jewish day school that embraces students from the early childhood years through the 12th grade. Although the school began sixty years ago, AYA is completing the first year of a major transformation to radically improve education outcomes and cost efficiency. In many ways, AYA will be a new school with a new model and a new message to share with the Dallas Jewish community and with communities across America.

AYA is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications who will craft and distribute the details of our new model to prospective students, their families, potential donors, and the community at large.

This role would include setting the strategy to widen the school’s reach and boosting enrollment by changing the perception of our school both internally and externally. This role goes above and beyond strategy and planning as we need a leader who can also execute the plan. Even though AYA is not a start-up we need an individual that is a self-starter and can wear multiple hats in their approach.

Copywriter: Ability to write, draft, and edit communication pieces to effectively tell the AYA story using proper tone, information, and messaging.
Be techy: Have comfort using Blackbaud, Finalsite, Constant Contact, Adobe Photoshop & other relevant software to effectively and efficiently complete tasks

The above-stated traits should lead to the following outcomes:
Build culture amongst departments creating unity
Global, comprehensive strategy within the first 60 days (streamline messaging)
Coordinating people and bringing the team together
Develop and execute social media strategy within 90 days
Website changes within 120 days
Improvement of the tone and reception of all communications whether written, oral, images or electronic.
Marketing and Communications drives admissions, recruitment & donor development. Experience in these areas would be a plus:
Student and Family Admissions: drive our pipeline for future admissions candidates who are a great match for AYA.
Recruiting Teachers: augment the work that others are doing to recruit, train, and motivate the best teachers that will not only fit the AYA culture but will help augment the AYA culture and create the best environment for our students.
Donor Development: develop a strategic plan to help broaden the base of financial support for the school and lead the execution of that plan.

Energized by the educational mission of the school
Two or more years of leadership experience driving marketing and communications for a small-to-medium-sized business, nonprofit, or school
Experience working in a fast-growth organization, preferred
Experience with development, admissions, and/or recruitment, a plus

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 with growth potential
