Job Description

Reports to Director of Congregational Learning

Temple Emunah is a vibrant Conservative synagogue in Lexington, Massachusetts seeks an innovative, organized and dynamic individual to join its Education team. This September through May, full-time position has a strong focus on elementary and teen engagement and experiential education, with the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and creative environment.

Qualifications: A love of working with children and teens; Ability to develop, foster and sustain meaningful relationships; Energetic, engaging, passionate and flexible; Teaching experience in Jewish educational settings; Strong work ethic, project management and leadership skills; Ability to successfully handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment; Interest in learning and growing as a Jewish educator.

Hours: This is a full-time position with regular evening and weekend work (including some Shabbatot and Jewish holidays) expected throughout the academic year. The position offers a 9 month contract.

Core Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Education team; Teach in Religious School (kindergarten through seventh grade) and YAD (eighth through twelfth grade); Develop programming and serve as staff for Shul-Ins, Retreats and trips; Lead Moving Traditions Group for pre-teens; Serve as staff liaison to Social Action and Israel committees; Co-Advise Sr USY Chapter Plan, staff and support Jr USY Chapter for children in grades 6 - 8.
