The Jewish Community School of Greater Los Angeles is an exciting and new collaboration of several Los Angeles-based synagogues to create the most engaging and exciting Jewish education program in the city. Run by Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, the focus of our Community School is to give our students the tools to become successful Jewish adults. We prepare our students for the world by teaching them to cultivate compassion, empathy, and practical skills through Project Based Learning paired with interdisciplinary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education. We teach our students how to weave their Jewish identity into their 21st-century selves to discover a life full of meaning. You are a good candidate for this position if you are: Creative, growth-minded, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about Jewish education Organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter Comfortable interacting with students, teachers, and parents Job Details On-site supervisor for school on Sunday mornings Ensure that all teachers have adequate set-ups and materials Greet students and parents Manage any student behavioral problems that the teachers cannon manage Responsible for the flow of the religious school day and all on site logistics Substitute teaching may be required on a last minute basis CPR/1st Aid Certified (will provide training if needed) Weekly Management Work with teachers each school week to answer any questions and troubleshoot problems Answer parent and site-staff emails Manage/track weekly teacher expectations (lesson plans, student/teacher attendance) School Day Details Sunday mornings 8:00 am – 1:00 pm While we anticipate having in-person classes next year, we know that some virtual learning may be required.
