Job Description

Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance (BJEA) was formed to bring the two communities together in solidarity, to support each other in their struggles, and to better understand each other’s plight and narratives.

BJEA is seeking a passionate and experienced manager to help coordinate all of the activities and initiatives of the Alliance. This role will combine a variety of responsibilities, including coordinating between the various members of the Alliance, executing the directives of the BJEA Director and Executive Committee, formulating events and initiatives to engage members of the entertainment community about combatting anti-Black racism and antisemitism, developing strategies for building alliances between the two communities and other allies, overseeing BJEA social media team and strategy, and helping develop a comprehensive strategy for combatting anti-Black racism and antisemitism.

Detailed Responsibilities • Help with fundraising efforts for the Alliance. • Help formulate strategies for countering anti-Black racism and antisemitism. • Execute initiatives and directives of the Director and Alliance Executive Committee. • Network with members of the entertainment industry to expand the membership and support of the Alliance, including email and social media marketing and outreach. • Engage with entertainment company DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) teams. • Help in creation of graphics and videos as needed for organizational use. • Help in creation of materials about our organization and the Alliance. • Present about the organization, its work, to the entertainment industry and the general public. • Work with other team members to draft reports on the activities for the organization, including yearend reports, grant applications, and other materials. • Help write blogs, op-eds, petitions and various other statements. • Coordinate and oversee various educational trips in America and abroad. • Other responsibilities as assigned by BJEA Director.

Qualifications & Skills: • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or commensurate experience • Entertainment industry and/or non-profit experience a plus • Strong understanding of social media and communications • Strong writing skills are essential • Detailed oriented • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
