PJC is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, compassionate, and proven leader to administer its Religious School. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and proficiency with technology. Comprehensive academic Judaic background, strong Hebrew linguistic skills, and the ability to evaluate and teach a Hebrew/prayer curriculum is required. Participation in synagogue and school activities and occasional Shabbat celebrations is expected, consistent with the candidate’s religious practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate on the development and periodic review of curricular objectives. Develop and incorporate “experiential” learning into the school program when appropriate. Supervise school staff including hiring, evaluating and providing feedback in collaboration with clergy and lay leaders Prepare, maintain and reconcile school and program budgets Oversee and maintain the confidentiality of student records Participate as a member of the synagogue’s senior staff team Work with parents, teachers, clergy and lay leaders to ensure that our families have a positive learning experience in our programs Plan, direct and participate in school holiday activities and other school events. Serve as a resource to the Executive Committee, Board and Religious School Committee Chair regarding Religious school and related issues and attend Religious School Committee meetings
