Consultant – Position/Job Description
Leading Philadelphia area consulting firm providing full-service counsel to prominent domestic and overseas nonprofits, and recognized thought leadership to broader philanthropic marketplace, seeks a full (or 75%+ part-time) Consultant to be part of an interdisciplinary professional team.
Position Objectives: • To manage portfolio of domestic and overseas clients • To assist as part of team in firm-wide consulting engagements • To contribute to business development and thought leadership
Key Expectations: • Understanding of domestic and international nonprofit marketplace • Knowledge of Jewish philanthropic community a plus • Daily hands-on management and guidance of multiple client relationships • Connectivity to missions and purposes of client organizations • Taking initiative, problem-solving, working creatively and nimbly in a fast-paced environment • Well organized with capability to succeed under pressure • Building trust with client Boards and executive staff, top tier leaders and donors • Writing and communicating on behalf of clients and the firm • Promotion of The Lapin Group, LLC
Required Skills: • Navigating the operations, funding, and budgeting of client organizations • Careful calendar and deadline management for clients and for firm related projects and initiatives • Ability to work confidently with high net worth individuals, as well as organizational Boards and professional leadership • Donor & Prospect Research • Proficiency in WORD; Excel; PowerPoint; able to navigate social media • Hands-on experience in major gifts fundraising, development/nonprofit management helpful • Managing multiple projects and tasks • Excellent writing, interpersonal skills and phone manner
