JACPAC, an organization of Jewish women that is a leading national voice for a strong, bi-partisan U.S.-Israel relationship, reproductive freedom, separation between religion and state, gun violence prevention, climate change and voting rights, is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization into the 2024 election cycle and beyond. Organizational Background Founded over 40 years ago, JACPAC is committed to electing candidates who will work to strengthen and promote issues of concern to the Jewish community. Funds to support these efforts are raised through annual dues, special events and digital fundraising. Programming for JACPAC members is a priority, and includes meetings with elected officials, candidates, and leading policy experts. Members are kept informed on races and legislative issues through a weekly newsletter and informational email pieces and are encouraged to engage in the electoral process. In the 2022 election cycle, JACPAC contributed over $350K to candidates and bundled an additional $250K from its members, mailed 10,000 postcards to voters in swing districts, and participated in GOTV efforts across the country. Job Responsibilities: ● Serve as the top strategist for the organization for the 2024 election cycle. ● Create, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, an election cycle plan and vision that will include benchmarks for success. ● Develop and maintain strategic relationships that support the work of JACPAC with Members of Congress, candidates, and political and government staff that will continue to expand JACPAC’s reputation. ● Serve as an articulate, enthusiastic, and visible spokesperson for JACPAC through regular public appearances and speaking engagements. ● Promote JACPAC through strategic marketing and communications. ● Create advocacy campaigns around JACPAC’s issues that may involve the national membership. ● Design, lead and execute a fundraising plan that may include existing tools including membership renewals, annual event, social/digital fundraising, and direct mail. ● Work with JACPAC members to leverage their resources and networks. ● Identify and implement strategies to promote JACPAC to potential supporters. ● Develop a plan to expand the role of donor leaders as participants on the Steering Committee and other committees. ● Manage a small team of staff, consultants, and volunteers. ● Prepare a comprehensive annual budget reflecting organizational goals and priorities and manage finances to ensure transparency and financial stability. ● Oversee compliance with the Federal Election Commission. ● Manage communications team and help develop an annual communications calendar that will target different audience groups. These communications may include direct mail, newsletters, press releases, annual reports, social media and oversight of website content and design Qualifications While no candidate will embody every quality, the Executive Director position requires an individual who has a combination of strong fundraising, political, organizational and communications skills. The ideal candidate will have previously served in a leadership role at a political organization, on a political campaign, or with a nonprofit. Other professional qualifications and personal attributes include: ● Passion for the core JACPAC issues and the political process ● Familiarity with the Jewish community and the election process ● The ability to plan and deliver oral and written communications that make an impact and persuade their intended audience ● Experience interacting and building relationships with a variety of audiences including organization’s members and major donors, political leaders, and allies ● Demonstrated track record of fundraising ● Comfortable working in a collaborative and autonomous manner ● Skills to develop and administer organizational budgets ● Minimum of 5 to 7 years working in a related or similar role ● Familiarity with budgeting process and financial analysis ● Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office suite proficiency Historically this has been a hybrid position in metropolitan Chicago; remote candidates will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. This position will require travel and the ability to attend events outside traditional business hours. Salary range: $80K - $100K.
