Congregation Temple Israel of the Poconos following conservative traditions, is looking for an innovative religious leader-Rabbi and/or Cantor to lead its congregation of eighty families. We have been established in the Poconos area since 1924, located conveniently between New York, Allentown and Philadelphia.
The Rabbi will lead congregation services on Friday evening , Shabbat morning, and all Jewish holidays. He/She will be able to read Torah, will serve as a spiritual guide, will have a community presence, outreach for new members, teach adult education and Hebrew School, and perform all life cycle events. The Rabbi and/or Cantor is expected to work closely with the board of directors and attend monthly board meetings to present a report.
The synagogue building has a kosher kitchen, several classrooms, social hall, library, and a beautiful sanctuary
There is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom parsonage located on the Temple property. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits are available & negotiable.
