Job Description

Qualifications • Meet minimum requirements for Director according to California Department of Social Services- Title 22 • Hold at least a BA Degree in Early Childhood Education • Remain current in First Aid and CPR for infants and children • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in preschool/or infants. • Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising staff in a child care setting. • Experience supervising, guiding staff

Responsibilities • Reports to ECE Director • Be familiar and stay up-to-date with state licensing regulations as well at Temple Etz Chaim policies. • Keep Infant Program current and in compliance with state licensing regulations. • Along with ECE Director, help develop, plan and implement, with staff and infant program for children birth to 2 years of age that is safe, developmentally appropriate and helps infants develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually. • Along with ECE Director, supervise, guide and train staff for their ongoing professional development. • Interview new personnel as needed. • Ensure the Infant staff have read and are familiar with state regulations as well as the program policies for Temple Etz Chaim preschool. • Along with ECE Director, help to maintain infant staff personnel files. • Maintain staff ratio, assigning staff as needed. • Arranging for substitute care as needed or filling in when needed to maintain required staff: child ratios. • Along with ECE Director, give tours to perspective parents and explain enrollment forms as required by state and program policy. • Attend monthly staff meetings. • Build relationships with families
