Job Description

OBJECTIVE Teach Jewish text and rabbinic thought in sunny Tampa, Florida while following Hillel Academy’s unique teaching schedule called the Time-Valued Schedule. Teachers teach and facilitate lessons with their students four days a week and have one day to self-direct their work without student responsibilities from on or off campus (Note: students are in school a full five days).

JOB SUMMARY The Middle School Limudei Kodesh Educator (Rabbi/Male educator preferred, or Morah) is responsible for providing Jewish studies education (Chumash, Gemara, Mishnayos, Kriah, Kesiva, Halacha, etc…) to fifth-eighth grade students in a classroom setting. He/she instructs students, communicates well with parents and colleagues, maintains classroom management, and is responsible for student achievement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional lessons that facilitate active learning experiences. Integrate technology when deemed helpful to improve instruction. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on students' performance and development. Attend all required Professional Development sessions. Attend all conferences and school events expected of educators. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Prepare student progress and report cards and narratives. Manage student behavior in the classroom by school-established rules and procedures. Actively listen to student questions and concerns and address individual learning needs. Receive routine, ongoing feedback, and support from the leadership team.

Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, office, and school-based staff, students, parents, and the community. QUALIFICATIONS Smicha / Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university Observant Minimum 2 years of teaching experience Male educator preferred, but not required

COMPENSATION $40,000-$60,000; commensurate with experience and Hillel’s salary scale Note: Job seekers should not compare Florida salaries to the northeast or mid-Atlantic regions of the USA.
