Implementing the vision and direction of the school as outlined in the mission and the ethos of the school Ensuring that the school meets all state and federal requirements as well as WASC and BJE expectations Hiring and supervising staff Managing the school budget Overseeing the curriculum and instruction Communicating with parents and the community Representing the school at public events
Responsibilities
Ensure the vision and direction of the school are maintained by developing and implementing a school strategic and improvement plan Ensure the school meets all state and federal requirements by following all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain the requirements as expected by WASC and BJE Create a profile of a faculty member at Harkham Gaon Academy Hire and supervise staff based on a faculty member's profile by interviewing and hiring teachers and other staff members and providing them with training and support. Manage the school budget by creating and implementing a budget and monitoring spending with the Finance Committee and Business Office. Oversee the curriculum and instruction by overseeing the curriculum's development and evaluation and implementing the curriculum's teaching while providing teachers with professional development opportunities. Communicate with parents and the community by holding regular parent-teacher conferences and providing information about the school through newsletters and other communication channels. Represent the school at public events by speaking at board meetings and attending community events.
Qualifications
Master's degree in education or a related field (Preferred) Five years of experience in education Strong leadership and management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work under pressure Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work with a diverse population Commitment to Professional development and growth
