Early Childhood Teacher

We are seeking a creative and passionate teacher for our Early Childhood program. The candidate should have the following attributes: • Have enthusiasm to teach young children • Ability to create a loving, nurturing and warm learning environment • Knowledge and skills to plan lessons to teach young children the core content in order to meet New York State Next Generation Learning Standards • Understand the basics of motor development, the different ways children learn and early language and literacy development • Good organizational and classroom management skills • Ability to develop a child centered classroom where children learn through play and exploration • Responsible for child and classroom assessment activities including recordkeeping, child observations and portfolio development • Ability to communicate with parents, work collaboratively with colleagues and possess good interpersonal skills Qualifications • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education and in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree • Experience working with children under the age of six in an Early Childhood setting • Possess or be on track to obtain one of the following New York State teaching certificates: • Early Childhood (Birth - Gr. 2) • Common Branch (N-6) • Students with Disabilities (Birth - Gr. 2)
