The Development Assistant is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the daily workflow. Responsible for arranging meetings, providing donor reports from the database, keeping the office calendar, editing correspondence, and assisting with general departmental needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the development department Carries out administrative duties such as writing/printing thank you letters, assisting with mailings, gifts, and mementos to donors, and researching donors Provides donor lists and reports to the fundraising team from the fundraising database (Salesforce/Admire) Interacts with grantors to provide them with updated information as they request Plays a key administrative role in all development programs and events. Assists CDO with daily department activities and other functions Acts as a liaison between Development and Data Management Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related activities as needed Assist in ad hoc assignments
EDUCATION: bachelor’s degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years related work experience preferred
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS: Mission-driven and motivated to help children living with illness and support their families Previous success in a similar position Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written Experience with databases, preferably Salesforce or Admire Strong time-management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize assignments Nonprofit experience is a plus
