Job Description

Akiba Yavneh Academy (AYA) seeks an experienced High School Hebrew Teacher for the 2024-25 academic year. Akiba Yavneh Academy is a Modern Orthodox, co-ed, early childhood through 12th grade college-preparatory school dedicated to providing an academically excellent and values-based General and Judaic education to Jewish students of all backgrounds to inspire a lifelong love of Torah, higher learning, and the State of Israel.

About the Position The AYA high school Hebrew department is composed of hard-working, educational professionals looking to add an equally passionate and creative educator. Our ideal candidate is a disrupter, innovator, and empathizer; someone with a growth mindset and a desire to continuously learn through professional development and instructional coaching. We are collaborative and focused on developing a rigorous but authentically engaging learning environment.

This is a full-time position requiring regular full-time attendance. Work hours are 8:00 am - 4:20 pm Monday - Thursday and 8:00 am - 2:30 pm on Friday.

Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field of study Strong background in Hebrew Language instruction Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Hebrew and English Experience with curriculum design Must be a collaborative and creative team-player Must have the ability to work full-time Experience with differentiation and instruction, including modified curriculum

Preferred Background or Interest in Five or more years of teaching experience at the high school level Project Based learning Blended or Self-paced learning Student-centered learning Data-driven instruction Equitable grading Skills-based mastery
