Job Description

Temple Israel is seeking a dynamic Youth Advisor to join our Education staff. This full or part time position is responsible for planning and executing innovative programming with our youth (grades K-12), creating positive Jewish experiences; planning social events, and leading informal Jewish educational opportunities. The Youth Advisor will build on the strong foundations of our youth program to sustain a meaningful, values-driven, and fun community for our youth. The Youth Advisor will work collaboratively with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to create a welcoming and enriching environment that promotes Jewish learning and values, Jewish pride, and community involvement. This position is supervised by the Director of Youth Education and Programming.

Responsibilities: · Lead bi-monthly “Kehillah High” educational experiences for 8th-12th graders · Create and run weekly Sunday morning youth group lounge activities for 5-7th graders · Lead ongoing monthly social activities and volunteer opportunities for multiple age groups ie: tikkun olam projects or recreational outings · Work with regional USY leadership to continue building the foundation for the local chapter and collaborating with other USYs in the region · Assist with the vision, mission, and curriculum setting of all K-12 educational and social programming · Assist in creating and implementing grade-level Family Education Programs, Jr. Congregation, Holiday Programs, Services, and special programs. · Preferred: Prayer knowledge to help lead weekly Shabbat morning Junior Congregation · Help in religious school classrooms as needed Onsite presence is required during the academic year including Shabbat morning Junior Congregation, Religious School and youth group on Sunday mornings, and bi- monthly Kehillah High and USY programming. High Holiday and other holiday responsibilities required. Evening and weekend events are based on a programmatic calendar.

Qualifications: · Bachelor's Degree preferred · At least 2 years of previous experience preferred (including teaching, camp staff, youth group advisor, Jewish educational programs) · Strong interpersonal skills · Exceptional ability to communicate, connect with, and build relationships with youth, teens, and colleagues. · Proven ability to collaborate effectively with parents, volunteers, and staff · Self-starter, who can work independently and has a drive to do their best ·Proven experience running programs independently from start to finish · Proficiency in social media, database/CRM, and Microsoft suite Temple Israel, Sharon, MA is an equal opportunity employer.

Compensation: Salary: $27,000-45,000 commensurate with time and experience
