Temporary Position - October 2025 to June 2026 Hours per week: 10 - 15 hours per week or as negotiated with Senior Rabbi and Synagogue Leadership Compensation: $35 - $45 hourly rate Core responsibilities of this position include: -Co-lead, and occasionally independently lead Shabbat services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings, as determined and agreed upon in conjunction with the Senior Rabbi. -Prepare to read triennial Shabbat Torah readings from the Torah scroll. -Co-lead and participate in other holiday services/celebrations (not including Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur). The specific schedule will be determined in discussion with the Senior Rabbi, candidate, and synagogue leadership. -Lead songs at services, events and celebrations. -Ability to self-accompany on guitar strongly preferred.
Qualifications -Ability to independently lead services for Shabbat, holidays, and other occasions. -Musical ability, including strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Jewish liturgy and melodies. Guitar playing is a strong plus. -Proficiency in Torah and Haftarah trope. -Good communication and interpersonal skills. -Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly
