Looking for our next PJ Library and PJ Our Way Program Director

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The PJ Library and PJ Our Way Program Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys’ PJ Library and PJ Our Way program. It is the PJ Library and PJ Our Way Program Director’s responsibility to ensure that all aspects of our PJ Library program are developed, promoted, and executed with the utmost professionalism and understanding of how it fulfills the mission of the Jewish Federation. The PJ Library and PJ Our Way Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director, but also provides assistance to other Jewish Federation staff in order to assist them in fulfilling their various roles and responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
MANAGEMENT
· Oversee Jewish Federation’s PJ Library Program
· Serve as a professional liaison between our Jewish Federation and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF)
· Write a monthly PJ Library Program Report to the Jewish Federation’s Board of Governors that will include:
· Brief summary and update of all PJ Library and PJ Our Way-related activities/developments since the previous report
· Most recent program attendance
· Names of people involved in reported programs/activities
· Current enrollment figures for both PJ Library and PJ Our Way
· Meet with the Executive Director on a regular basis to talk about and discuss the PJ Library and PJ Our Way program
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
· Implement and maintain our Jewish Federation’s PJ Library and PJ Our Way program for our community
· Develop a marketing and programmatic plan to raise awareness of our PJ Library and PJ Our Way program
· Manage the operational aspects of the program, including regular communication with PJ Library and PJ Our Way families
· Recruit families to enroll in The PJ Library
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Market the program and recruit families
· Manage the PJ Library database and update participants’ mailing and contact information
· Communicate regularly with HGF and our PJ Library Program Officer, including submitting their requested bi‐annual (December and June) reports
· Work with Jewish Federation’s Executive Director to develop a fundraising strategy to support and expand our PJ Library and PJ Our Way program.
ONGOING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and facilitate PJ Library‐themed programming for families with young children
· Communicate regularly with our community’s PJ Library and PJ Our Way families
· Communicate regularly with our HGF Program Officer
· Complete and submit requested materials to HGF and PJ Library Program Officer
· Update and maintain our PJ Library and PJ Our Way families on the HGF database
· Attend annual HGF PJ Library Professionals Conference
· Develop long‐term and short‐term marketing and programmatic plan for both PJ Library and PJ Our Way programs
· Work with our Operations and Communications Manager on the development of PJ Library and PJ Our Way’s marketing and promotional materials
· Communicate regularly with Jewish Federation’s community partners
· Ensure our community’s information PJ Library’s website is accurate
· Represent PJ Library at appropriate community events
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Attend and assist (where needed) major Jewish Federation programs and events
· Represent the Jewish Federation, when asked by the Executive Director to do so, at community events
CONFIDENTIALITY
· It is imperative that the PJ Library Program Coordinator be knowledgeable about and sensitive to the need for maintaining confidentiality when appropriate. Examples include, but are not limited to, requests for social services, donor requests for anonymity, earmarked donations, etc.
This is a part-time position (approx. 15 hours/week) with a yearly salary up to $25k, depending on experience.
