Your position at the JDS will be as a general studies teacher. Most importantly, you will establish student relationships that foster engagement with your studies, that encourage students to deeply explore content, and that help students feel secure. Secondly, you will provide effective instruction in literature, composition, grammar and usage, and vocabulary.

Qualifications Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience establishing robust partnerships with students, colleagues, and parents Expertise in using differentiated instructional methodology to reach a range of learners Three to five years of teaching experience in a school setting Knowledge of and experience with curriculum and assessment Strong collaboration skills A demonstrated growth-mindset approach and commitment to continuous improvement Bachelor's Degree in Education or its equivalent PA Teaching Certificate Required

Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that are structured, multi-sensory, and targeted to individual learning styles to facilitate active learning and assist students in achieving their potential
Collaborate with team members to plan and implement curriculum and instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, and/or social studies Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the disciplinary systems of the School Effectively differentiate instruction to meet the various needs of students, including whole group, small group, and individualized instruction Create a sense of community and belonging among students where each student is celebrated for his or her identity and strengths
Provide students with specific, actionable feedback and grades Integrate technology into the teaching-learning process Communicate with parents proactively, positively, and professionally to support the academic, social-emotional, and physical needs of students Work with the academic support team to provide accommodations for students with specific learning needs Perform other duties to support the division and/or school as a whole Attend in­-services, faculty meetings, teacher workdays, and professional development opportunities Qualified candidates will be invited to: Interview and tour the school Perform model teaching Provide written materials as requested
