Assistant Executive Director
Location: New York City, NY 10024
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated person to work closely with the founder and senior staff in a unique and mission-driven organization. This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about Jewish history, Holocaust education, and Jewish cultural preservation. Opportunity for rapid growth and promotion.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of seamlessly switching between administrative tasks and more complex responsibilities, such as engaging with scholars, major donors, and diplomats.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Founder, and staff on diverse projects including:
• Holocaust education initiatives
• International speaking engagements
• Film screenings and distribution
• Development of a new museum in Eastern Europe
• Maintain digital and physical filing systems (scanning, organizing, archiving)
• Draft professional correspondence and communications
• Serve as liaison with external partners, scholars, and supporters
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) required
• Experience in Jewish organizations or non-profits preferred
• Strong Jewish identity and familiarity with Jewish customs
• Passion for Holocaust remembrance and Jewish heritage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and OneDrive
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and work independently
• Flexibility to pivot between administrative duties and higher-level coordination
• Demonstrated professionalism, follow-through, and respect for confidentiality
