About the Role
As Community Engagement Manager, you’ll play a vital role in shaping vibrant Jewish life that spans generations, levels of observance, and the full diversity of our region. Through relationship-building, creative programming, and inclusive outreach, you will inspire connection, foster belonging, and help build a community where every Jew feels seen, valued, and empowered to participate.
In this management-level position, you’ll operate with a strategic lens—overseeing multiple programs, volunteers, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Jewish Federation’s broader mission. Key Responsibilities
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
You’ll foster Jewish life and connection by:
• Leading Community Gatherings: Plan and implement gatherings for celebration and commemoration, such as Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, Yom Ha’atzmaut, October 7, and others—supporting lay led committees and ensuring meaningful experiences.
• Overseeing PJ Library: PJ is a program aimed at supporting families to raise Jewish children through Jewish-themed books. It’s also the framework to create an array of opportunities to engage families with young children, including our Jewish Family Education Initiative.
• Creating Impactful Programs: Gradually design and execute inclusive, innovative events and programs that reflect Jewish values and help build community.
• Supporting Lay Leadership: Recruit, support, and collaborate with volunteers and committees to bring ideas to life, build leadership pipelines, and expand community engagement.
• Empowering teens: through our staple program Student to Student, support the adult volunteers and help expand their outreach. Partner with other organizations such as ADL, Stand with Us, BBYO to offer programs that empower and support teens.
• Championing Inclusion: Ensure all programs are welcoming to the full diversity of Jewish identity—including interfaith families, LGBTQ+ individuals, Jews of color, and those new or returning to Jewish life.
• Partnering with Local Organizations: Collaborate with synagogues, schools, agencies, and interfaith partners to broaden impact and deepen relationships.
• Amplifying Our Voice: Support storytelling and community visibility through social media.

TEAM SUPPORT
As part of a small, mission-driven team, you will:
• Writing, proofreading documents/Evoice etc.
• Support Annual Campaign outreach and donor engagement events
• Lend a hand wherever needed—because that’s how great teams thrive.

Who are you?
• You hold a B.A and preferably an M.A.
• You have a strong background in program development and Jewish knowledge.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on community service.
• Experienced in volunteer recruitment and management.
• A team player and collaborative person.

Our benefits include:
• Full-time non-exempt position with flexible schedule to promote work-life balance. Most of the team works from home on Fridays, and we are open to hybrid schedules. Some evening events and Sunday commitments are required.
• Hourly rate $25—approximately $52,000 yearly compensation.
• Paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and Jewish holidays.
• Work perks: health insurance (or health insurance allowance up to $5,000) phone reimbursement (up to $600 a year), we close at 3:00 on Fridays, and we are always looking for ways to take care of our team’s wellbeing.
