Temple Kol Ami, a vibrant 375-family Reform Jewish congregation in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a passionate and experienced Temple Administrator to help provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the congregation. Working in close partnership with clergy and lay leadership, the Administrator oversees administration, human resources, finance, facilities, communications, and development to ensure the congregation fulfills its mission and operates effectively and sustainably.
Position Summary
The Temple Administrator is responsible for the efficient operation of the synagogue’s administrative functions. This role ensures smooth day-to-day management of office operations, supports clergy and staff, and provides excellent service to members. The Administrator plays a key role in maintaining organizational systems, coordinating events, and managing communications.
Key Responsibilities

Office Management
Oversee daily office operations, including phones, email, and reception. Maintain office supplies, equipment, and technology systems. Ensure a welcoming environment for members and visitors. -
Administrative Support
Provide administrative assistance to clergy, staff, and committees. Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting materials. Maintain accurate records and filing systems. -
Membership & Communication
Manage the membership database and assist with dues processing. Develop and coordinate member communications, including newsletters and announcements. Respond promptly to member inquiries and requests. -
Event Coordination
Support logistics for worship services, lifecycle events, and programs. Schedule rooms and manage facility use. Liaise with vendors and volunteers for events. Maintain a proactive approach to communication and organization. -
Financial & Compliance Support
Oversee and ensure accuracy with invoicing, deposits, and bookkeeping. Ensure compliance with synagogue policies and procedures. -
Development & Fundraising
- Lead revenue development strategies and fundraising initiatives
- Implement an annual Development Plan in consultation with leadership and advisors
- Oversee donor recognition, gift acknowledgment, and major donor cultivation
- Support planned giving efforts
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or synagogue setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in office software and database management
- Familiarity with Jewish customs and Reform Movement values is a plus

Salary & Benefits
- $80,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience, plus benefits
