Position Overview
The Emery/Weiner School seeks a dynamic, innovative, and collegial Hebrew Teacher to join our collaborative faculty beginning in the Fall of 2025. The ideal applicant is an enthusiastic professional with a broad range of subject knowledge and previous middle or secondary school teaching experience.
The teacher will work closely with staff to provide an inspiring and motivational Jewish learning environment. A strong candidate will have a desire to teach in a progressive, student-centered independent school that values innovative pedagogy and experiential education. An outstanding candidate should demonstrate a track record of innovation, flexibility, collegiality, and student success. Athletic coaching experience is considered a plus.

Responsibilities
- Teach five sections of Hebrew.
- Serve as a homeroom advisor to a small cohort of students.
- Assess students’ academic and social development.
- Provide consistent and professional oral and written communication to students and families.
- Collaborate on grade-level, department, and interdisciplinary faculty teams.
- Contribute to the life of the school outside the classroom (including chaperoning duties and student life participation).
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hebrew, Jewish Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Comfort with innovative and forward-thinking approaches to instruction and grading.
- A strong commitment to professional growth.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in Education or a related field.
- 2–5 years of teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in independent schools.
