Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation (JRC), a joyful, inclusive Reconstructionist community in Evanston, seeks a friendly, reliable Event Support Associate to provide logistical support for ritual services, community programs, and private events in our synagogue. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, interacting with people, and helping events run smoothly from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and take down event spaces (heavy lifting of tables, chairs, furnishings) and A/V/tech equipment, troubleshooting as needed
• Welcome and assist members, guests, renters, vendors, and caterers; serve as primary on-site support during events
• Monitor building access, maintain cleanliness (light cleaning, dishwashing, trash, room reset), and communicate promptly with the Director of Engagement and Programming
Requirements:
• Warm, proactive, detail-oriented team player; comfortable with A/V equipment
• Valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle for offsite shifts; able to lift 30 lbs
• Willingness to learn or knowledge of Jewish traditions and practices
Schedule & Pay:
Part-time, non-exempt, $20/hour. Weekly shifts begin September 1, Tuesdays 3:15–10:30pm, with opportunities for additional shifts. Benefits include paid sick leave.
