Job Description

New York Jewish Agenda (NYJA) advocates, organizes, and convenes to promote the values of liberal Jewish New Yorkers and influence state and local policy. The Policy Director leads NYJA's advocacy and public policy efforts at the intersection of Jewish values and social justice, designing and executing campaigns with the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and advance NYJA's policy agenda — drafting Memos of Support and briefings, serving as subject-matter expert, tracking legislative developments (antisemitism, racial justice, immigrants' rights, economic equity, voting rights)

• Build relationships with elected officials, staffers, agencies, and coalition partners; represent NYJA in legislative meetings, coalitions, and rallies

• Ensure lobbying complies with 501(c)(3) rules; organize public events and train community members to advocate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; 2–4 years in Jewish communal or political advocacy, events, or government relations

• Deep understanding of the Jewish community and legislative processes; strong writing and coalition-building skills

Salary:
