Job Description

The Family Support Specialist provides on-site individual and family intervention as part of a team with case managers, foster parents, primary caregivers, guardian ad litem, and other professionals — offering assistance, intervention, and education on substance abuse, adjustment and relationship issues, stress, daily living skills, budgeting, and employment.

Responsibilities: • Transport and supervise children and case participants, including individuals with medical and behavioral health needs • Provide mentoring, support, training, and crisis intervention to foster parents, birth parents, and caregivers to ensure child safety and well-being • Develop and implement activities aligned with case plan goals; document services within required timeframes • Participate in the on-call rotation and attend court proceedings when required

Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum one year working with children and/or families in a social welfare system (child welfare experience preferred) • Flexible schedule required — hours vary based on client needs, outside standard 9-to-5 • Personal vehicle for client transport; valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds

Compensation: $18.00 per hour. Benefits include 15 PTO days, 13 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 403(b) with immediate 25% match, and mileage reimbursement.
