Job Description

JDC is seeking a deeply committed, experienced full-time Senior Development Officer to serve as the Bay Area JDC representative. This effective fundraiser will be instrumental in driving JDC's mission forward, stewarding a portfolio of significant individual and foundation donors, deepening partnerships with the Jewish Federation of the Bay Area, and identifying and engaging new major gift prospects.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify, research, engage, and cultivate a pipeline of high-potential individuals, foundations, and corporate donors for new, renewed, or increased gifts ($50K–$1M+) • Develop and meet individual and departmental fundraising goals and metrics • Cultivate and deepen strategic funding relationships with lay leadership, including JDC Board members and trustees of Federations and other Jewish organizations • Plan innovative donor engagement activities, from intimate briefings to large-scale events and travel to the field • Represent JDC's global impact and vision to a range of audiences, tailoring messaging to diverse philanthropic motivations

Qualifications:

• 10–15+ years of professional fundraising experience, including substantial experience closing five- and six-figure gifts; seven-figure experience ideal • Demonstrated success raising funds for Jewish nonprofits and working with donors in the Jewish community • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills • Technologically fluent with donor CRM systems such as Raiser's Edge, NXT, or Salesforce • Ability to travel locally on a regular basis, domestically 8–10 times and overseas 1–3 times annually

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000; placement within the range considers skills and experience, internal equity, and cost of living. Benefits include competitive medical, vision, and dental coverage; 20 vacation days, 20 sick days, 3 personal days, 10 national holidays, and up to 14 Jewish holidays; 12 weeks of paid parental leave after one year; 403(b) with JDC contributions of 6.5% of salary; FSA, commuter benefits, and life insurance.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, remote from the San Francisco Bay Area with regular local travel.
