Davis is hiring a founding Hebrew Teacher to make modern Hebrew a living language at the school: real spoken proficiency, real Israeli culture, real joy.

Responsibilities: • Teach Modern Hebrew across multiple proficiency levels in grades 9–12, entirely in Hebrew • Design immersive, standards-based lessons that build speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency • Integrate Israeli culture, literature, history, and current events into instruction • Teach for real proficiency aligned to ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, and benchmark student growth against external assessments such as Avant STAMP • Help build a vertically aligned Hebrew curriculum as a founding faculty member • Mentor and advise students, and create opportunities to use Hebrew beyond the classroom

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language, Hebrew language and literature, Jewish education, second language acquisition, or Israeli studies • Native or near-native Hebrew fluency required; outstanding non-native fluency considered • Teaching credential preferred — U.S. licensure or Israeli te'udat hora'a equally valued • 3+ years of teaching experience, ideally including Hebrew as a second language • Jewish day, independent, or faith-based school experience is a plus

Salary: $72,520–$137,099, based on the school's faculty salary schedule and determined by relevant experience and educational attainment.
